Connecting you to Melbourne's underground music scene

We are a digital radio and media organisation that is passionate about our community and creating opportunities to amplify local voices.

Area 3000 was born out of the lockdown in 2020 when the future of live music and nightclubbing was uncertain. We focus on highlighting both emerging and established artists, helping to connect our local dance music scene to the wider community.

Our mission is to connect people through the power of music by delivering diverse, innovative, and immersive music experiences. Our studio is based in Revolver Lane, a co-working space in Prahran, Melbourne, Australia.

Area 3000 acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we are broadcasting from and pays our respects to their custodians, past, present and future.

What we do

Radio broadcasting

We broadcast 24/7, offering various genres and show formats, including curated playlists, live DJ sets and productions.

Storytelling podcasts

We host and promote engaging podcasts that cover a wide range of topics, empowering creators to share their stories.

Music discovery

We introduce new and independent artists to our audience and connect fans with emerging talent.

Community engagement

We actively promote a variety of events and important initiatives throughout the city.
